Fixed Deposit Insurance Limit

I heard that RBI has increased the limit for Insurance for Fixed Deposit in Banks at India.
Before Limit was Rs.1,00,000 ( One Lakh ) but now it is 2,00,000 ( Two Lakh).
Is it correct ? If not explain how much limit is available currently .

While it has been reported that there are discussions to increase the limit to Rs. 2 lacs, the change has not been announced. Hence the fixed deposit insurance limit supported by DICGC remains at Rs. 1 lac.
